The Circus Parade of "Suspensions" Begins as The Donald Seems to Be Setting Up The Rationale For An Independent Run

The Cirque du GOP train has pulled into the station in New Hampshire for its next engagement. It now has a permanent Ringmaster (Marco Rubio), and the Grand Parade featured a lot of campaign suspensions. Rand Paul, Mike Huckabee, and Rick Santorum have all dropped out since the big show in Iowa Monday.

But the really big story breaking as the Big Tent goes up for next Tuesday's Greatest Political Show on Earth centers around the Circus' most famous clown act.  Donald Trump.  The Donald is challenging, at least in the court of public opinion (where else?) the Iowa show's ticket sales results, claiming that another clown, Ted Cruz (voted "best act" by circus goers) rigged the results with false rumors about the circus physician, Dr. Ben Carson running off from the troupe, and also by sending out fake "voter violation" ballots to the audience.

Cruz laughed it off, claiming Trump ought to go join the other big circus act touring the country right now, but Trump's behavior suggests the famous clown may indeed be about to leave the Cirque du GOP and start his own traveling show.

Trump vowed he would stay with Cirque du GOP as long as he was "treated fairly" (which of course means he gets top billing as the premier clown act).  Now he may be looking for excuses to claim he is not.  And is he really taking the show seriously anymore?  He isn't even in New Hampshire now with the rest of the troupe.  He is off in Arkansas.  What is he doing there? Looking over venues for his own show, or talking himself up to new investors?

The "sneak peek" for the Tuesday Cirque du GOP New Hampshire main event comes this Saturday in Manchester, New Hampshire,  Trump says he will be there with the other clowns.  It promises to be a real funny show.
